Proper wall flashing consists of both step and apron flashings which are crucial to prevent water infiltration into a building, safeguarding its structural integrity by diverting moisture away from critical areas like wall junctions, preventing potential damage like mold growth, wood rot, and costly repairs, essentially enhancing the longevity and sustainability of the building envelope by effectively managing water runoff.
Seipp Roofing has developed a unique way to properly replace your flashings. Many contractors struggle with these details during a roof replacement. In the general construction of a home the roof is installed and then the siding which comes down over roof flashings at wall details resulting in fasteners penetrating the flashings and securing them to the wall behind the siding.
Seipp Roofing undertands unlike many other contractors that the only way to truly replace wall flashings during a roof replacement is to loosen, remove or cut out some of the existing siding. This allows us to remove the existing flashings, install ice and water shield up the wall interfaces as required, and appropriately install the new flashings.
In areas that it is required that the siding be cut out our skilled team has developed a specialty aluminum wall trim that is custom fabricted for each job. This trim can be color matched to the existing siding or any other color as desired to break up the look of the home/ building. While this may sound odd considering many contractors do no discuss this, it adds a signature touch to the roof and additional curb appeal to the home/ building.
